Philadelphia has a rich history of retail and design visionaries past and present. One need not go back as far as the venerable John Wanamaker to establish our fashion pedigree. Adrienne Vittadini, Ralph Rucci, Jones Apparel Group and of-the-moment designer Tory Burch all have Philadelphia roots. Urban Outfitters and Destination Maternity founded their companies here and are still headquartered in Philadelphia.

The cobbled streets of Old City, located between Front and 4th streets and Race to Chestnut streets, are lined with countless galleries, home décor shops, new and vintage clothing boutiques with a design-heavy utilitarian vibe (Society Hill borders to the south). On the first Friday of every month, the area's galleries and stores are open late and vendors line the streets with their local crafts.
